I only play music whenever I am less busy or I don’t have a particularly engaging task to do. But when I have to be serious with why I am engaging in, I find music distracting.

Is that the same for you?

For very monotonous and non-brainy work, music helps a lot, but I can also study things in my mind. For instance, I like to go over mental visualizations of bass guitar arpeggios.

I play music throughout my work day, it helps me focus and get through the day. It has improved my mood a lot during work as well, I'm not sure how I used to get by without it. There are times I have started driving to work and realize that I've forgotten my Airpods. I'll always turn around and go back to grab, it makes that big of a difference for me. I can't listen to music that loud during work so I can focus, but I'll usually have my playlist playing at a low volume in the background. The only times I usually listen to music are at work or in the car.
